UrbaCon’s Al Khayyat: Mall of Qatar received 100,000 visitors on opening day

The Mall of Qatar, one of the largest shopping malls in the world, received approximately 100,000 visitors on its opening day on 10 December 2016, a senior official of UrbaCon Trading & Contracting (UCC) announced today.

“I’m pleased to see the Mall of Qatar running successfully after lots of great efforts and work from varied parties to make it happen,” said Qatar-based UrbaCon’s CEO Mr. Moutaz Al Khayyat.

“As a developer of the the 500,000 square meter mall I’m proud to see the visitors enjoying the shopping experience as the mall received approximately 100,000 visitors on its first day,” added Moutaz Al Khayyat.

“The shopping mall will attract visitors from Qatar and the Gulf states and it will be the shopping destination for World Cup fans in Doha in 2022,” said Mr. Moutaz Al Khayyat.

UrbaCon Trading & Contracting has been involved in several huge projects over the last few years and has become one of the most respected building contractors in Qatar. In addition to the Mall of Qatar, included among its projects are the Banana Island Resort, the Sheraton Doha Hotel and Convention Center, and the Lekhwiya Stadium at Al Duhail. UrbaCon is one of several companies owned by Mr. Moutaz Al Khayyat. These companies include general contracting, commercial and residential developments, building materials, various trading companies, hospitals and restaurants with operations in the Middle East.
