The Bangladesh Forum Qatar (BFQ) honored local entrepreneurs and business organizations in the country as part of BFQ’s 1^st anniversary celebration. Among the awardees of the “Partners of Bangladesh” was Power International Holding (PIH). The award was accepted by Mr. Marwan Dimas, Group Marketing Director of the company, on behalf of Mr. Moutaz Al Khayyat, Group Chairman and Mr. Ramez Al Khayyat, Vice Chairman and Group CEO.

H.E. Mr. Ashud Ahmed, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, handed over the awards to the recipients. The envoy took the occasion to congratulate BFQ by awarding business organizations that have contributed to the development of Qatar-Bangladesh bilateral economic relationship. “The “Partners of Bangladesh” recognition is an innovative idea that will go a long way in further strengthening people to people contact between the two countries,” the envoy said.

The program witnessed a total of seven renowned organizations and entrepreneurs, honored in three different categories such as contribution towards trade and economic development of Bangladesh, contribution in employing substantial number of Bangladeshi workforce, and successful Bangladeshi entrepreneur in Qatar.

The significance of the esteemed award proves PIH’s diversity as a group. The company acknowledges the excellent bilateral relations between Qatar and Bangladesh, and the efficient Bangladeshi workforce in the company.

With its economy set to boom at a growth rate of 7.86 percent and cost of doing business including labor cost lowest in Asia, H.E. Mr. Ashud Ahmed said, there cannot be a better time for Qatari investors to look for investment opportunities in Bangladesh.
