MME signs pacts with PIH to enhance cooperation in air quality monitoring

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Department of the Environmental Affairs Sector, signed through video conference technology, a number of cooperation agreements with Power International Holding (PIH) Company to enhance cooperation in the areas of air quality monitoring and building a reputation management system.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment Engineer Hassan Bojumhur Al Mohannadi emphasized that these agreements aim to strengthen cooperation in the field of air quality monitoring, and to build a reputation management system in the ministry, and that according to one of these agreements there will be support for the network of air quality monitoring stations in the Ministry as well as providing an air quality monitoring station according to the best international standards to be installed near one of the stadiums that will host the 2022 World Cup.

He added that the other agreement aims at scientific cooperation in building a “reputation management” system, which is a modern system for developing the Ministry’s operations in line with the strategic plan of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, and achieving communication with the public in a professional manner, in accordance with the latest scientific theories and preserving the Ministry’s image.

He stressed that the Ministry promotes, through one of these agreements, an improvement in its reputation management, at the level of environmental sustainability indicators, by designing a reference tool for the components and features of the Ministry’s reputation, and developing plans and mechanisms for disseminating the components of this reputation at the level of different segments.

For his part, the Vice Chairman and Group CEO of Power International Holding Ramez Al-Khayyat, affirmed that these agreements contribute to supporting environmental sustainability in the country, noting that the signing and implementation of such agreements comes within the framework of mutual cooperation with various entities operating in the country.
