UCC Holding Senior QHSE Manager, Wayne Ramon Oliver has been awarded for his performance as a health and safety manager at the World of Safety & Health Asia (WSH Asia) awards held in Singapore.
The World of Safety & Health Asia (WSH Asia) Safety Influencer Award 2021 was conferred to Oliver for his leadership and expertise in managing UCC’s response to the emerging Covid-19 pandemic. Thanks to his experience and the work expertise of the entire team, the company has been awarded several certifications such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001 2018, which recognize UCC as a healthy, safe, and pollution-free working environment company.
The impact of Covid 19 prompted the health and safety team at UCC to implement special measures to protect the company’s workforce. Some of the measures included the construction of quarantine facilities, disinfection of workspaces, and the creation of biosecurity manuals for customers.
His role as a safety leader at UCC has made an impact on several sectors operated by UCC, from construction to manpower management. Wayne has been awarded in the past with several recognitions such as the SC International Safety Award – with Distinction 2020 and BSC International Safety Award Winner – “Best in Country Award Qatar”.
According to Wayne, seeking to involve all levels of management, from workers to senior management, and further collaboration with Power International Holding is the key to achieving these recognitions as a company.
Wayne expressed his appreciation for receiving this recognition stating: “I am honored to receive this award. This award inspired me to work at changing people’s mindsets, improving the safety culture, and ensuring workers go home safely every day. If we strive to do this daily, it will become a habit, a way of life, and finally excellence”.
