Position Description

The Finance manager is responsible for the financial health, financial reports and developing
strategies based on financial research. The position reports to the Financial Controller and guides the
senior executives in making short‐ & long‐term business decisions.


Required Knowledge:

‐ Knowledge of Prevailing GAAPs
‐ Knowledge of IFRS
‐ Knowledge of Local regulations pertaining to trade finance; customs, etc.
‐ Knowledge of Securities Exchange regulations.
‐ Knowledge of Corporate Governance & related compliance


Required Skills:

‐ Skills in Finance ERP & Transition planning.
‐ Skills in specific Reporting Tools for ERPs.
‐ Skills in Report Presentations
‐ Skill in negotiation and facilitation.
‐ Skills in managing projects simultaneously while maintaining a satisfactory work product



Essential duties & Responsibilities:

‐ Manages the day to day operations of finance including receipts, payments and appropriate recording of transactions.
‐ Develops external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, customer, suppliers and statutory organizations.
‐ Develops financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk.
‐ Processes the payments of OPEX & CAPEX in line with approved budget and authority matrix.
‐ Engages in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company.
‐ Supervises of key accounts functions including Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable & General Ledger.
‐ Manages the complete track record of accounts receivables, billing and collection.
‐ Manages the complete track record of accounts payables, verification of bills / invoices and timely payments.
‐ Maintains complete record of related party transactions and reconciliations.
‐ Ensures timely month end closing process.
‐ Maintains reasonable provision against doubtful receivables, slow moving inventory and write downs of assets.
‐ Maintains fixed assets register and monitors the additions & disposals.
‐ Maintains complete chart of accounts and ensures the integrity.
‐ Executes Opening and closing of the GLs and ensures correct mapping in the system.
‐ Interprets the company's financial results to management and recommend improvement activities.
‐ Reviews company bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company throughput.
‐ Performs independent stock counts of inventory, livestock and fixed assets.
‐ Creates additional analyses and reports as requested by management.
‐ Oversees the extension of credit to customers.
‐ Liaises with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.
