“Baladna” Farm is working on achieving self sufficiency for the State of Qatar from dairies and their products within 9 months.

The first herd of “165” dairy cows from the 4000 cows agreement is scheduled to arrive to Doha Airport on Tuesday on-board a Qatar Airways aircraft. The contracting company “Baladna for Qatari dairies” concluded an agreement with German, American, Australian and Dutch companies to import cows in order to achieve self sufficiency for the State of Qatar from dairy products within the coming nine months.

A source in the company indicated that there’s an airway bridge to transport the cows to be consecutively following an average of an airplane each 3-4 days within the following two months. The company farm has finished preparing new refrigerated hangars built according to the latest international specifications hangars for dairy animals in addition to providing appropriate fodders and nutriments for the cows and the trained human personnel.

Baladna Farm is 100% Qatari.

Immediately after the unjust embargo on Qatar, the company began to execute a work plan which existed to expand its productivity base and that within contributions of the private sector in the country to meet its needs from dairy products. The company is working within the next following months to cover 30% of the local market’s needs for dairy products as a first phase.

The company is working on executing a second phase from the production to provide 100% of the local markets’ needs from milk and imported dairy products through which the farm will be expanded for an area space of 1.400.000 square meters to accommodate 25.000 cows of the famous Holstein Friesian stock including a 14.000 dairy cows to achieve self-sufficiency for milk and imported dairy products.
