PIH Starts Its Digital Transformation Journey with the Kick-off of the SAP Implementation Project

August 1, 2019 – PIH, SAP and Larsen & Toubro Infotech (LTI), a global technology consulting company, officially carried out the kick-off for the ERP Platform, SAP S/4HANA. The project meeting was facilitated by Mr. Jasim Abdul Rahman, PIH Group Senior IT Director and was officially co-led by Mr. Salim Jarrar, UrbaCon Trading and Contracting (UCC), CEO. The meeting was attended by Senior Executives and Managers from UCC, Aura, ASSETS, PIH and its affiliated companies. Senior Directors and Managers from LTI delivered a presentation for the ERP Platform’s project schedule, activation and implementation.

SAP will be implemented across 25 companies within PIH, UCC Holding, Aura Group and ASSETS’ cluster of companies. SAP S/4HANA is SAP’s ERP for large enterprises; the platform will be the digital core for the company, covering all day-to-day processes of an enterprise such as project estimation to execution, order-to-case, procure-to-pay, plan-to-product, request-to-service and core capabilities. The project will also put together shared services function that will comprise of capabilities such as treasury management, payables and payroll processing, planning, financial consolidation, among others.

In the discussion, Mr. Salim Jarrar gave emphasis to the importance of learning the new system, “It’s our job to learn and to fully integrate this ERP Journey. What we are going to get from the system is data and information; this information is power for us. When we get the information, we analyze and utilize it to get things done.” says Mr. Salim.

In the coming weeks, a core team will be constituted and nominated from each company. The core team will lead stringent team building workshops, business process analysis and planning activities.

“The outcome for this mega ERP platform, that is S/4HANA, is to have a simplified architecture in place. Everything will be compressed into one ERP platform for all our subsidiary companies. It’s an ambitious project that we expect to complete in the next 15 months”, explained Mr. Jasim.
